Here is the ‘999’ EP by Pauline Manson, recorded on Thanksgiving Day 2010 in San Francisco by the members of Taco Leg and the junior Vice President of ROS RECORDS. Four trax of lo-fi group sounds, informed by primordial pop and kitchen sink punk. It tells the tale of the Mushroom Warrior, as he toils away in an utopian bureaucracy, measuring love by purely objective standards. Our hero attempts to find his soul in nature, only to be thwarted by the all-encompassing menace of the nuclear family, leading to death, tragedy and cynicism.
